Impact of research : Virus can cause a variety of serious disease, some of which have had the ability to desotroy entire countries geographically and economically by sweeping infections that were resistant to established treatment. In response to the virus, the immune system produces antibodies (IgM/IgG proteins), and the presence of these antibodies is linked to the presence of the infection in the patient. Detecting and measuring the presence of these antibodies would in this manner be incredibly valuable for population control and surveillance.

Method of research : We have designed a 3D printed model of sample reaction chamber and sample cartridge. We also design a but and bolt for creating translation movement. The sample cartridge is placed inside one section of the bolt and the other section of the bolt is attached with the motor shaft. In this design we can load 25µl of blood sample directly from human hand. The blood sample would be loaded to the reaction chamber by creating negative pressure where it will come in contact with the embedded reagent. Negative pressure would be created by rotating DC motor slowly in anticlockwise direction. The blood sample will be mixed with the embedded reagent by bidirectional DC motor rotation. The DC motor is controlled by Arduino software and a Bluetooth shield device is use to operate the system by a smartphone device. Then the mixed solution would be transferred to the detection chamber of the sample cartridge by creating positive pressure in the reaction chamber. The positive pressure would be created by rotating the motor slowly in clockwise direction. After loading the sample in the reaction chamber sample scanning.
